건축가 이성관
Sung Kwan Lee, Architect
 
1948년 부산 출생의 건축가 이성관은 1981년 한울건축을 설립했으며 올해로 27년째 한울건축을 이끌어오고 있다. 그는 국내의 굵직한 건축상을 휩쓸며 한국의 대표적인 건축가로 손꼽히고 있다. ‘숭실대 조만식기념관&웨스트민스터홀’, ‘반포577’, ‘탄허대종사기념박물관’으로 국내 최고 권위의 건축상인 ‘한국건축문화대상’에서 3년 연속 대상 수상자로 선정되며 화제가 되기도 했다. 이성관은 서울대학교 건축학과와 동 대학원을 졸업했으며 미국 컬럼비아 대학교에서 석사과정을 마쳤다. 미국 건축사의 정회원이기도한 이성관은 연세대학교와 한양대학교의 겸임교수를 역임했으며 현재 서울대학교 건축학과에 출강하고 있다. 

Born in Busan in 1948, architect Sung Kwan Lee has been heading HANUL Architects & Engineers Inc. since founding the company in 1981. He has been recognized as one of the most prolific architects in Korea, having received many prestigious architecture prizes. He was noted for winning the Korean Architecture Award 3 times in a row with his works ‘Jo Man Sik Memorial Hall & Westminster Hall at Soongsil University’, ‘Banpo 577’, and ‘Tanheo Memorial Museum’. Lee graduated from the School of Architecture of Seoul National University and the Graduate School of Architecture of Seoul National University, and also studied his masters at Columbia University. A member of the American Institute of Architects, Lee is a part time professor at Yonsei University and Hanyang University and a lecturer at Seoul National University.
